New Life
Carmen MettlerShare
We have made for ourselves a prison life
Bound by old patterns and fearful turning away from connection
The prison guard steals the lightbeams
From the sun
And no light reaches us there
Until one day
We loosen the tight centuries old grip
And open our hands to see the
Clammy key we have been holding
To stay true to the pattern
And now a breeze sweeps the cobweb door to our hearts open
A breath fresh as newly sprung buds
Enters the dark cave moment of our being
And our butterfly life begins again
Cycles and circles weaving a thread through time
Tracing us snail speed to the beginning
To before
To the first breath
Breathing now
Windows and shutters in sinew and bone open up
And the light flows gentle waves ocean in
The key illuminates the memory of light of ocean of beginning
Of dying
Of being born
And we begin again
Holding the key
Opening the prison door
Walking into the light
Frozen thawing memory
Dancing cinematic streams
Of new life
On the path we make by making and the choice we choose by choosing
All this makes a life
New life
Deep breaths.
